   Fox News ought to buy a copy of Monday’s Democrat debate on CNN to play over and over during the general election campaign. For now, the Democratic candidates need to appeal only to their nut-base. So on Monday night, the candidates casually spouted liberal conspiracy theories that would frighten normal Americans, but warm the hearts of losers blogging from their mother’s basements.

   B. Hussein Obama got the party started by claiming he couldn’t get a cab in New York because he’s black. This line was a big hit with white liberals in the audience who have never been to New York.

   Even writers for The New York Times don’t drag this canard out anymore. Last year, a black writer in the Times pointed out how things had changed in New York in the 10 years since he had been out of the country. Not only did he have no trouble getting a cab, but he cited statistics from taxi sting operations that showed a 96 percent compliance rate among cabbies in picking up blacks. (Remarkable, considering that New York cabbies’ compliance rate on daily bathing is less than half that.)

   As the Times writer noted, even 10 years ago, “most of the drivers who refused to pick me up or take me to my destination during that time were of African descent.” When he asked one cabbie — 10 years ago — why he avoided picking up black customers, the driver displayed a scar across his neck, a souvenir from a black customer who had robbed him. “I have to choose which is worse,” the driver said, “a fine or death.”

   Thanks to Rudy Giuliani, cab drivers in New York no longer have to make that choice. Under his mayoralty, New York City became a lot safer for cab drivers — and everyone else. The murder rate went from about 2,000 murders a year under Mayor David Dinkins to about 700 by the end of Giuliani’s term. The last time a cab driver was killed in New York was in 1997.

   I hope you’re not assuming I’m a democrat.

   Rarely is there any representation of the true left in the corporate-owned media and I’m certainly not going to look for it some Democrat debate on CNN.

   I’m not sure what your comment has to do with Al Gore and his carbon footprint though. If all you wanted to do was bash democrats, you’ll hear no complaints from me.

   I’ve pretty much heard it all with regard to global warming. Theories about global warming run the gamut from “there is no appreciable change in the climate” to “it’s already too late and we’re all going to die”.

   As an average Joe, I have more important things to do than spend hour upon hour doing all the necessary research to be informed enough to come to my own well-reasoned scientific conclusions. Sorry folks. I have a real life to worry about. Instead I’m going to just do make a prediction.

   The whole hoopla over global warming will be forgotten in ten years. It is nothing more than over hyped bunk.

   I say this because there is a lot of talking and political positioning about global warming, but no one is doing anything significant to actually combat it. If it really is true and completely agreed upon and the debate is truly over, as some people in high positions claim (I’m looking in your direction Al Gore.), then the only next step is to take the measures needed to stop CO2 emissions or prepare for the inevitable.

   Global warming may be real, but man’s contribution is far from proven. Coupled this with who is behind much of the hoopla and you should be an instant skeptic. I just read about cow emmissions. Livestock are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together.” You’d think that Gore would be happy (really, ecstatic) because he could stop complaining about humans. But, noooooo, he keeps on going.
   Then, consider the fact that the Earth has gone through many massive climate cycles - how many were attributable to man? (Answer=none). What about cycles of the Sun? There are probably dozens of overalpping cycles that know nothing about! Then why does Gore do it? Because it’s not about the environment.

   First of all, in the future, feel free to state all your opinions under the same name.

   I totally agree.

   You’re right. I read that too. Factory farms and other forms of industrial meat production need to go just as much as car culture. Gore’s family used to own a Black Angus farm.

   I’m very tired of the Earth’s cycles argument. It doesn’t hold up. There has never, in the history of the known world, been as much carbon in the air as there is now. Even 50 years ago, this was not the case.

   There is a lot more, besides global warming, that is hammering the planet.

   In June 1991, the second largest volcanic eruption of the twentieth century* took place on the island of Luzon. Scientist has stated that the emission by the eruption did more damage to the earth’s atmosphere than over 100 years of all vehicle emissions combined in the WORLD.

   Up to 800 people were killed and 100,000 became homeless following the eruptions, which climaxed with nine hours of eruption on June 15, 1991. On June 15, millions of tons of sulfur dioxide were discharged into the atmosphere, resulting in a decrease in the temperature worldwide over the next few years.

   Therefore, by that factoid, one could say that we should outlaw the darn volcanoes as they are causing global warming.

   I don’t blame you for trying to justify a psychopathological narcissism with inane volcano facts. No doubt other people want to stay in denial as well.

   You’re right that volcanic eruptions can enhance global warming by adding CO2 to the atmosphere. However, this is still nothing compared to the amount of CO2 contributed by humans. T.M. Gerlach from the American Geophysical Union says, (and I know you love your science) “human-made CO2 dwarfed the estimated global release of C02 from volcanoes by at least 150 times.” The truth is, while many volcanoes do release CO2, many of the large eruptions actually have a cooling influence, which offsets the eruption generated greenhouse gases.

   Check out the cooling influence of such eruptions as El Chichon (1982) and Mt. Pinatubo (1991). There have been others throughout the last few hundred years….such as Laki (1783), Tambora (1815), Krakatau (1883).

   The earth has it’s way of regulating itself. It will continue to do so long after we’ve made this planet unable to support human life. Back to the drawing board, eh?

The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern “snow belt” area. It’s in the South.

    HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville , Tennessee ; it is the abode of the “environmentalist” Al Gore.

    House #2 Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university.

    This house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American Southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.
