project bike (before picture)

This bike has been uselessly laying around my backyard. It’s been snowed on at least three seasons that I know of. I’ve decided to make it my project bike. The frame is too small, but it should fit someone I know pretty well. Eager to learn stuff.

Anyone have an extra seat-post laying around? Aren’t the shifters sweet?

Nice project bike. I have one that has been going on for the last 5-7 years that I know of. The bike is all taken apart in the room of my parents (which they are still not happy aboot). Are you going to leave it as a road bike? I originally was going to go for a cyclocross bike, but now I am thinking of making it a single speed. I would say to learn more stuff, go to the local bike shop and ask if you can donate your time to learn some bike repair/maintenance. Sorry that I don’t have anything to donate to you, but it looks like a great idea.

Yeah, I’m going to keep it a road bike. The geometry of frame wouldn’t work well for a cross bike. And that would require finding a wider fork too. Plus, I’ve already got a great cross bike. It would convert to a single speed very easily, and I would do that if I were fixing it up for myself.

That will be next, but I’m going to be really picky about the frame (steel, horizontal drop outs, fancier welding…).
