Adopt Pedal!

Pedal needs a home!

On the second day of riding to Big Mountain, we pedaled into the night. It was dark and snowy. About 40 miles from the base of Black Mesa, we found a puppy. Or rather, a puppy found us.

Carly and I were riding side by side when all of a sudden she said, “Ah, something bit me!” We stopped and this scrawny puppy was so happy to see us, she peed all over the road. She followed us to the next checkpoint and Rudy took her back to where we assumed she lived…a couple double wides a few miles back. He dropped her off with a big pile of food, hoping to drive away while she was eating (and this dog was very hungry). Every time this was attempted, the puppy – who we named Pedal – would lay down in front of the wheels.

So, Pedal remained with us for the rest of the trip. In the beginning, we all wanted to keep her, but as it turns out, none of us can take her. She is good with cats and even sheep. She is great off the leash, with kids, and other dogs. Pedal has a lot of energy and loves to be outside. With a steady home and lots of attention, she will be a great dog.
